Cape Disappointment Tour
Carsten took both my wife and I on tours to Cape Disappointment and the Olympic Peninsula. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the areas and the native population that reside there. He was also very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the different areas. Before the tours took place he asked us what we were expecting to see and what are interests were. He catered both tours by adding unique off the beaten path sites and avoiding the touristy sites. For example, he took us to the abandoned Satsop nuclear reactor site. We also were given an added bonus of crossing the Astoria Bridge into Oregon and seeing the city of Astoria and its history.

Cape Disappointment Tour
My partner and I booked a trip with Carsten up to Cape Disappointment - it was anything but! Carsten was such a kind and knowledgable guide. The service was excellent right from the moment I got in touch to talk about our wishes for the trip - to visit a local seafood joint / to drive along the beach etc - right through to when we said goodbye. Wow, was für eine beeindruckende Tour! Unglaublich vielfältige Natur... Wasserfälle, Märchenwald, im Wasser am Pazifikstrand und in 2000 Metern Höhe. Ein Highlight folgte dem anderen, ich kam mit dem Fotografieren kaum hinterher:) Und es gab sogar eine Hirschkuh mit Kitz am Straßenrand! Carsten ist ein sehr netter, lustiger, gut organisierter und gleichzeitig entspannter Tourguide. Vielen lieben Dank...und immer wieder!!!

Seattle City Tour
Wir, zwei Freundinnen, waren mit Carsten unterwegs und hatten eine interessante und entspannte Stadtführung mit viel Hintergrundwissen. Auch die Tipps, die uns Carsten für den zweiten Tag unseres Seattle Aufenthalts gegeben hat, waren sehr nützlich. This is a fantastic tour with a highly skilled guide. You see the most important Seattle highlights in an efficient and pleasant process. The tour guide even stopped at Starbucks to get us coffee. Highly recommend this tour. Worth every penny.

1-Day Olympic Peninsula Tour
5 STARS OLYMPIC PENINSULA with CARSTON THIES!!! 1) 7 destinations in 1 day! Additional photo stops, nice lunch choice. He provided water & a tasty, healthy snack. 2) Prompt, helpful answers to my many emails! Because of the options he described, we decided to change our lodging so we could see more in our 1-day tour. 3) Excellent driver. Spacious, comfortable vehicle with good viewing. 4) Knowledgeable about natural and human history. 5) Great personality, open & interested, and willing to share freely about his expertise with Germany, Alaska, etc., when we asked questions. We not only learned about the Olympic peninsula, but felt very touched to be able to share a day with someone who's had such enlightening experiences. 6) We are convinced that other guides would not have so readily accommodated our desire to get a sampling of everything. I had an unrealistic hope to see a remote area from Seattle in 1 day. Another guide simply told me it wasn't possible and suggested I do Rainier. Carston, however, explained nicely that my original goal would be better suited to 2 days, and that if I wanted to do 1-day, he could offer some alternatives that might give a similar goal. I was sold at his understanding of how to help the client, and we were completely satisfied and thrilled with the tour. The bonus was having gorgeous weather. He went out of his way to provide a superb day. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION for Carston Thies!

Olympic Peninsula Tour
The Olympic Peninsula tour was breathtaking. The ferry ride was unique and enjoyable. The little breakfast restaurant was outstanding! The history narrative that you provided throughout the tour was extremely educational. Seeing the old growth forest and hiking on trails was awe inspiring. I wish that we could have had the time to take the two-day tour.

Customized Olympic Peninsula Tour
My family and I had a fantastic tour of Olympic National Park with Carsten Theis. We saw so much natural beauty in one day and only covered half the park! Carsten was like having a naturalist with his extensive knowledge of wildlife, flowers/fauna, and the geology of the area. He is respects and can talk about the First Nations inhabitants and their culture. Loved the Makah museum. He was very patient and let us set our own pace. The old growth forest was a highlight for me as was breakfast at the Old Mill cafe. His car was comfortable and spacious. Conversation flowed easily. It was a special day.

Leavenworth Day Trip
Und nochmals unterwegs mit Carsten :) Diesmal ging es nach Leavenworth. Die Schönheit der Natur machte mich wieder schier sprachlos. Und es gab ein aufregendes Abenteuer: wir begegneten einer Schwarzbärmama mit Kind. Sehr nah, zum Glück saßen wir im Auto... und zum Glück erzählte Carsten dass er auch Bearguard ist! Als special surprise besuchten wir zum Abschluss noch einen riesigen Antiquitätenladen :) Wieder eine unvergesslich schöne Tour... Danke vielmals!
